Genesis
Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1 (AFS) Adampur was established in 1965 at Air Force Station Adampur under the aegis of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan New Delhi, an autonomous body managed by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Education, Govt. of India.This was the model school of India which has classes from I to XII. The school has approximately 1400 students and 53 qualified staff.
Primarily, it caters to the educational needs of children of transferable defense personnel of the Central Government. Employees and personnel of All India Services also get the benefit of these schools. Apart from this, other floating population may be admitted subject to availability of seats. The school offers humanities, commerce and science streams up to class 12th. The school is running in its own building with lush green campus and is one of the few Kendriya Vidyalaya selected under PM SHRI Scheme of Govt. of India. The Vidyalaya is on jalandhar-Hoshiarpur road and is appx. 3 km from Adampur Bus stand and 1.5 km from Khurdpur Railway Station. It is a 3 section school upto class X and 4 section in classes XI & XII. One Express Train from Agra to Hoshiarpur is available and others passenger trains from Hoshiarpur to Jalandhar are available.
