Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1 (AFS) Adampur was established in 1965 under the aegis of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan New Delhi, an autonomous body managed by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Education, Govt. This is a model school of India which has classes from I to XII. The school has approximately 1400 students and 53 qualified staff.
Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 was established in 1965 at Air Force Station Adampur. Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is an autonomous body run by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Ministry of Education, Govt. Government of India, New Delhi Primarily, it caters to the educational needs of children of transferable defense personnel of the Central Government. Employees and personnel of All India Services also get the benefit of these schools.
Apart from this, other floating population may be admitted subject to availability of seats. This school prepares students for ICSE conducted by CBSE, New Delhi. The school offers humanities, commerce and science streams up to class 12th. It has approximately 1347 students with 60 qualified staff. The school is running in its own huge building. This school is an Adarsh Kendriya Vidyalaya, one of the few selected Kendriya Vidyalayas in India.
